“Anne O’Rourke’s music celebrates the beauty in the mundane.”
Interview with Long Island Sound.Love
Anne O’Rourke is a singer-songwriter from the North Fork of Long Island (NY). Her music can be described as “upbeat folk” featuring acoustic guitars, lush harmony vocals, bass-driven rhythm, and little bit of electric guitar for texture. She blends her love of indie pop, folk, and musical theater into a unique way of story telling. Her songs are about personal growth and reshaping the narrative into something positive.
Her latest release, and debut album, Love on Our Lips, is a collection of vulnerable songs that explore the feelings that come with falling in love, growing apart, healing, and opening your heart to those around you. Recorded and produced with Bill Hafener at Silo Recording in Brookhaven, NY, this newest project was recorded with a cast of local talent (Delaney Hafener, Nick Balzano, Frankie Matos, Laurie Anne Creus, Sam Monteleone, James DeNatale, Devin Wohnsigl, Sarah Gross, Anne Crean, and Al Criscuolo) to create an energetic, full band, soft rock sound. Love on Our Lips is available now wherever you stream and purchase your music.
O’Rourke was featured at the 2018 & 2019 Huntington Folk Festival, many Fresh Brewed Sessions Concert Series shows, and aired on Homegrown Long Island (90.1 FM). December 2020, she interviewed for Heart of the East End’s HOT Sounds segment on 88.3 WLIW-FM, the local NPR station.
